Interior

Brickwork

Brickwork is masonry produced by a bricklayer, using bricks and mortar. Typically, rows of bricks are called courses. These are laid on top of one another to build up a structure such as a brick wall. Bricks may be differentiated from blocks by size.

Plastering

Plaster is a building material used for the protective or decorative coating of walls and ceilings and for moulding and casting decorative elements. In English “plaster” usually means a material used for the interiors of buildings, while “render” commonly refers to external walls

Building Walls

Two of the most common forms of interior wall materials are plaster and drywall. Plaster has been used since ancient times. The earliest plaster was usually made of lime, sand, animal hair and water

ceilings and coving

Coving is used to add a decorative touch to the corners of rooms where the walls and ceilings meet. Applied using coving adhesive, there are various profiles available, some more intricate than others.

Extensions

Side extensions can only be single storey with a maximum height of 4m and a width no more than half of the original building. In designated areas (such as areas of outstanding natural beauty, conservation areas, etc), side extensions require planning permission and all rear extensions must be single storey

Fences, walls and gates do not require building regulation approval. Although building regulations do not apply, the structures must be structurally sound and maintained.

Cement rendering is the application of a thin premixed surface of sand, cement and lime plaster, to brick, cement, stone or mud-brick

Driveway Paving

Block paving also known as brick paving is a commonly used decorative method of creating a pavement or hardstanding. The main benefit of bricks over other materials is that individual bricks can later be lifted up and replaced.

Patio Paving

Paving blocks are shaped like bricks and so are commonly known as block paving or driveway blocks. They’re smaller and thicker than slabs, making them a popular choice for Patios. They also work well as decorative edging around large paved areas.

Dry-Lining

Dry-lining is a system for cladding the internal faces of buildings, such as walls and ceilings. Plasterboard is attached to the internal faces, creating a smooth surface that finishes such as paint can be applied to directly, a ‘wet’ plaster finish is not required.

Block paving also known as brick paving is a commonly used decorative method of creating a pavement or hardstanding.

From affordable paving services in Hougham. We have been in the industry for 26 years Bricklaying and Plastering. I have worked on sites from New builds, School builds, Hospital builds and the latest was New Build flats in Rochester. I’ve worked in Universities, Private Hospitals and untold NHS jobs. We have a great rapport with other construction companies, as we cover a lot of work for them. We also have our own team of experts on board and are fully insured.
